Chapter 04 · Main coating
What is the task of PSC 250 T HP+?
PSC 250 T HP+ is the insulating main coating of the industrial system — a flexible insulating and sealing coating with the highest ceramic-nanosphere content in the product line, for steel structures indoors and outdoors.
What is the task of HP+ in the system?
HP+ is the insulating main and sealing coating for steel structures, plant and equipment — both indoors and outdoors. It reduces the surface temperature, stabilises the operation of equipment and can reduce energy costs for cooling or heating by up to 50 %. Typical application areas are hot and cold water pipes, air conditioning systems, freezers, steam pipes and boilers, tanks, heat exchangers and containers.
Which properties characterise HP+?
Water-based acrylic resin coating with the highest ceramic-nanosphere content in the product line; contains corrosion-protection components and can therefore be used without the primer ECB BASIC A. High resistance to chemical environments of classes C4 and C5, to condensation and weathering; reflects a high proportion of the incident solar radiation (Total Solar Reflectance, TSR: 92 %).
Which substrate is suitable?
All metal surfaces made of steel, aluminium, stainless steel or copper — even without prior priming with ECB BASIC A. The substrate must be dry, firm, free of oil, grease, dust, salt, rust and old loose coatings.
How is HP+ applied?
Supplied ready to use; thoroughly mix the entire container contents before use. Preferably applied with an airless sprayer (remove the filter beforehand, nozzle pressure max. 130 bar), alternatively with brush or roller (bristle length 8–14 mm). Layers of 0.5–5 mm are recommended (one layer max. 1 mm). HP+ is applied as an intermediate or base layer; the finishing layer follows with ECR ROOF, EC or EC+.
